Notice of Class Action Settlement — Loblaw/Weston Packaged Bread

Box 3355 London, Ontario  N6A 4K3 Notice of Class Action Settlement Re: Loblaw/Weston Packaged Bread Class Actions You are receiving this notice because you were identified as having claimed a $100–$200 Loblaw Card from the Packaged Bread Loblaw Card Program (2008–2026) and/or registered with the lawyers handling this class action. Authorized by the Superior Court of Justice for Ontario Class actions have been certified/authorized by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Quebec on behalf of all individuals and businesses resident in Canada who purchased Packaged Bread, alleging certain manufacturers and retailers engaged in anticompetitive conduct resulting in overcharges. The Courts have not yet made any decision on the merits of the claims or defences in either action. The Plaintiffs have entered into a national settlement with Loblaw Companies Limited, Loblaws Inc., George Weston Limited, Weston Foods (Canada) Inc., Weston Bakeries Limited, and Weston Food Distribution Inc. (collectively “Loblaw/Weston”) for $500 million ($96 million already paid), plus their cooperation pursuing claims against non-settling defendants. In exchange, Settlement Class Members release Loblaw/Weston from claims relating to Packaged Bread. If approved by both Courts, net settlement funds will be distributed to Settlement Class Members per the approved distribution protocol. Funds for personal-consumption purchasers will be distributed through a claims process; funds for resale purchasers will be held in trust pending a future Court determination. Canadian Settlement Class Members’ Options If you reside anywhere in Canada, except Quebec, and purchased Packaged Bread between January 1, 2008 and December 31, 2025, and wish to participate, you do not need to do anything to be included in the Ontario Settlement Class.
